Its 2010, One Million Tee will go live in the 1st or 2nd quarter of the year. Although we cannot give you an exact date of the launch, but do know that we are doing our best to speed up things over here.
T-shirts Testing
We are currently test printing the t-shirts, which includes testing different types of t-shirts and materials, using different inks and also testing the t-shirt printing machine (Direct to Garment aka DTG). The first badge of t-shirts printed is not as vivid the colors as we wanted it to be. It came to the conclusion that it is impossible to print bright neon type colors using the machine. So we shove off the old design and colors and came up with new ones. They are currently being test printed.
T-shirt Suppliers
Apart from testing t-shirts we are also looking at t-shirt suppliers. Lots of consideration to make in this area as we will be printing in Singapore or Malaysia thus the issues of shipping and the volume of t-shirts. Furthermore we would prefer using organic cottons from Africa. All these will add up to the cost of the t-shirt and ultimately we want a t-shirt that is priced reasonably in order for everyone to have it.
Looking for Partners
Yes, we are looking for partners! So far we have identified a few potential partners that works directly or indirectly in creating job opportunities in Africa. The main ones would be Micro Finance organizations which we think has the biggest impact in boosting the economy by helping entrepreneurs in starting businesses. Potential partners will act as an advisor to our organization and the profit from One Million Tee will be contributed to them. We are currently in discussion with few of them and we look forward to an agreement that will mutually benefit both parties. To sell 1,000,000 t-shirts we need a system that supports choosing of numbers, colors, sizes, previews, database of t-shirts sold etc. We are still looking at programmers who can help us in this area.
